I know the Roethke poem because of Ned Rorem, one of the finest American art song composers (classical), and still writing I believe - he was born in 1923 and is still around. Rorem set "I Wake To Sleep", as well as other Roethke poems including "Snake", "My papa's waltz", "Root Cellar" etc. Dana is going to search her back emails to find your June date at the Rrazz Room, to make sure that we get tickets.
